Using Your Motability Allowance for a Mobility Scooter or Motorised Wheelchair

What is the Mobility Scheme?

• Simply exchange your qualifying mobility allowance for a brand-new Scooter or Powered Wheelchair on the Mobility Scheme.

Can I join the scheme?

People in receipt of one of the following allowances may be eligible to lease a scooter or powered wheelchair through the Motability Scheme:

• Higher rate mobility component of the Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
• War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS)
• Enhanced rate mobility component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
• Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP).
• As long as you have a qualifying mobility allowance with at least 12 months left.
